Paul’s Valley, OK

Paul has a valley in Oklahoma where he keeps his action figures.
Paul’s Valley has One
Sonic, bank, Laundromat, diner, grocery store, town hall
and two police officers (One
is a woman.)
Nobody uses the Laundromat;
seven piles of quarters stacked seven-high on a countertop.


The police man doles out speeding tickets
by the turn-off from I-75. The bank cashes checks.
The city council voted to build Paul’s
Action Figure Museum Extravaganza!


Every day Paul stays late to keep it open
      for children with parents.
People come from Kamchatka to Eritrea just to see
      the Batman eggo waffle toaster.


The townsfolk spent seventy seven years not caring.
Eyes rolled at every tourist. Inhabitants
never leave the Valley and their
population never changes.


Every year a tourist decides to stay.
Soon another townsperson rolls their eyes:
“Another dreamer has come to salivate
                             on priceless artifacts” The mayor jokes.


Nobody has ever seen or met Paul.
